Treatment and Rehabilitation Program

About the treatment an addict is a sick person and needs humanistic treatment. Our 90-day Treatment Program for drug and alcohol addiction is the minimum required treatment program at Safe Care Trust International and serves as the cornerstone for maintaining sobriety. Our 90-Day Program is segmented into three 30-day "Stages", , each covering a unique range of appropriate topics and protocols. Over the course of the next 90-days, Clients are presented with an intensive daily regimen which takes place at the Skill House. The schedule includes:

  • Group Therapy Sessions that Focus on Early Recovery Skills
  • Relapse Prevention Skills
  • Social Support in Recovery
  • Group therapy sessions run 1.5 hours, include up to 12 Client participants, and follow a curriculum-based process and problem solving approach. Individual counseling sessions run 50 minutes, though shorter sessions may be scheduled as a function of the Client's needs or his counselor's request to provide additional support or crisis management.

The first 30-days of this core treatment program is referred to as "Stage 1". It begins with an initial overall assessment and stabilization period. During this time our clinical team establishes a formal Individualized Treatment Plan for each Client while seeking to identify the core issues contributing to the addiction and any stumbling blocks to a lasting recovery.

Components of Stage 1:

  • Comprehensive Client Assessment (family, social, work, health, emotional, spiritual, legal, recovery patterns)
  • Assessing Client's true motivation for change
  • Identification of core clinical issues
  • Stabilization (physical and emotional)
  • Identification of potential relapse risks
  • Completion of "Family Assessment" PACKET by Client's family

The next 30 days of treatment, or "Stage 2", offers group therapy sessions, as well as generous individual therapy sessions with a licensed therapist who will provide comprehensive treatment and discharge planning. Using a variety of treatment modalities, Clients closely examine the specific behaviors or situations that could trigger relapse. Coping strategies, that are designed to be both positive and life-affirming, are put into practice. Real-time interventions are utilized.

Components of Stage 2:

  • Exploration and clarification of the Client's understanding of the disease of addiction (mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual)
  • Development of a detailed plan to address underlying core issues
  • Demonstration of the continued ability to adhere with increasing consistency to program structure and recovery-based attitudes and behaviors
  • Attending of all assigned groups
  • Completion of all specified writing assignments
  • Individualized family works
  • Begin exit plan and update treatment plan to reflect

During the remaining 30 days of the 90-day Treatment Program, activities are focused around the Client's smooth reentry into his new life of sobriety and personal responsibility. Safe Care Trust International Clients will therefore be familiarized with local 12-Step programs and other community support groups. Personal responsibility is another critical component of continued success after treatment. In Stage 3 Clients will be taught time management and scheduling skills in order to assure that the Client is able to keep his promises, appointments and commitments.

Components of Stage 3:

  • Developing a range of strategies and behaviors that maximize the Client's chance of success
  • Providing cognitive behavioral treatment driven by a developmental approach to staying sober
  • Periodic testing for alcohol, drugs and other substances
The most difficult part of the treatment is rehabilitation in which there is need to motivate a patient to take up a healthy activity preferably away from old places and old company. Drug Rehab is a life-saving process whereby a patient is helped to regain their life and dignity as a human being. Rehabilitation from any addiction can be painful, but when compared to the troubles that drug use brings about it is clear that addiction treatment is by far the better option.

SAFE CARE Trust International (SCTI) is establishing a new standard in the treatment industry. We do everything possible to help our members begin and support their JOURNEY OF RECOVERY for life.

Treatment Approaches

There are many competing theoretical approaches to drug addiction treatment/rehab. Some use behavioural approaches (where undesirable behaviour is punished and recovery behaviour is rewarded). Other drug rehabs use a purely medical approach, preferring to use a great deal of medication to try and treat the disease of addiction. Read More

We believe a structured after- care program is pivotal and a necessary progression in the client's recovery, particularly in the first two months fol- lowing discharge. Clients are encouraged to participate in the follow-up programs following discharge. Read More

Frequently Asked Questions

  • To ensure that treatment is successful, most rehab facilities don't allow patients to leave unless accompanied by staff. In most cases, facilities are unlocked, however locked facilities do exist for patients who need to be secured (those who try to escape, become hostile, threaten the safety of staff or other patients, etc.)

  • When you undergo rehab, it's important to stay for the duration of the treatment. Detox may be included if you are addicted to substances or if you display compulsive behaviors. A typical rehab program lasts anywhere from 28 to 35 days, depending on the patient's progress.

  • SCTI Inpatient treatment program provides care 24 hours a day. Sometimes, it is better to be taken out of your home environment in order to focus on recovery. After an extensive evaluation, a group of therapists, counselors and psychologists come up with a unique, personalized treatment plan. The treatment plan is based on the patient's diagnoses, interests and personality, and usually consists of group meetings and 12-step programs along with specific therapies such as Expressive Arts or Equine Therapy.

  • Family involvement is crucial for the recovery process. Most treatment facilities have a set period of time for the family to come visit and take part in workshops or lectures. Many times, addiction stems from issues within the family, so it's essential to understand family dynamics and provide a space for the family to communicate and heal. Not only does this heal the patient, but it brings freedom and peace for the rest of the family.

  • Safe Care Trust International will be responsible for food, lodging and other facilities during his stay.
